Complete Air Quality Solution Packed Tower Scrubbers Tower Scrubber
The PP spray tower uses gas-liquid reverse absorption treatment, which means that the liquid is sprayed from the top of the tower downward in mist (or small droplets). The waste gas is discharged from the tower body (reverse flow) to achieve the purpose of gas-liquid contact. This treatment method can cool the waste gas, condition the gas, remove particles, and then discharge it into the atmosphere after being treated in the demisting section.

The PP spray tower boasts a high purification rate, effectively eliminating major pollutants like sulfuric acid mist, chromic acid mist, hydrogen sulfide, and ammonia, as well as challenging waste gases such as chlorinated qing, achieving a removal efficiency of over 95%. This tower is highly customizable, allowing for different designs to suit various spaces. Moreover, the PP treatment tower can be tailored with different internal structures based on factors like air volume, air pressure, absorption efficiency, and waste gas type, ensuring optimal treatment outcomes and cost-effective investments. Thanks to its inherent antioxidant properties and the addition of ultraviolet absorbers during manufacturing, the PP tower guarantees a service life of up to 15 years, both indoors and outdoors, without requiring specialized maintenance personnel. Regular inspections at designated intervals reduce labor costs, while the manufacturer provides on-site operation monitoring. Operating costs are minimal as there are no wearing parts to replace during standard operation. PP material offers superior temperature resistance compared to traditional materials like PP, PVC, and PE, withstanding liquid temperatures exceeding 100°C. In specific cases involving waste gas and absorption media, PP proves to be a cost-effective choice. PP absorption towers exhibit resistance to corrosion from common absorption liquids such as sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, sodium thiosulfate, sodium sulfide, sulfuric acid, ammonia water, sodium hypochlorite, and organic solutions.

Working Principle of PP Spray Tower

The fan unit in the system draws the accumulated waste gas into the scrubbing tower, passes through the filling layer (where gas and liquid come into contact), and ensures thorough contact between the waste gas and the liquid (washing solution) flowing over the filling material to absorb the acidic or alkaline contaminants present in the waste gas.

Upon completion of the washing process, the waste liquid is gathered in the sump and subsequently directed to the wastewater system for treatment. The tower receives gas through a fan, with the gas moving upwards from the bottom. An acid-resistant pump is used to send the absorption liquid to the top of the tower, which is evenly sprayed downwards through a liquid distribution apparatus to create a countercurrent absorption process. The neutralized gas exits the tower after passing through the demisting section and is released into the atmosphere via a chimney. Various acidic gases are absorbed by distinct absorption liquids, with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution serving as the neutralization liquid. With a solution concentration of 2-6%, the purification efficiency for (HCL) acid mist (initial concentration <400mg/m3) can exceed 98%; for (H2SO4) acid mist (initial concentration <300mg/m3), the purification efficiency can surpass 97%; and for nitric acid (HNO3) acid mist (initial concentration <100mg/m3), the purification efficiency can exceed 90%.

CONSTRUCTIONS

A typical spray tower is a crucial component in various industrial processes where gas treatment and purification are required. The design of a spray tower is meticulously crafted to ensure optimal performance in capturing particulates and contaminants from gas streams. In its structure, the spray tower features several key elements that play distinct roles in the gas treatment process. The one demisting layer is responsible for removing moisture and droplets from the gas stream, ensuring the efficiency of subsequent purification steps. The two spraying layers facilitate the distribution of liquid absorbents or neutralizing agents onto the gas, promoting the absorption of pollutants. Additionally, the three packing layers provide a large surface area for the intimate contact between the gas and the liquid phase, enhancing the mass transfer efficiency. The four windows in the spray tower allow operators to visually inspect the internal operations and monitor the process. Moreover, the five loose ball valves serve as essential control mechanisms for regulating the flow of gas and liquid within the tower. Overall, the intricate design of a typical spray tower underscores its importance in ensuring effective gas treatment and environmental protection in various industrial settings.

1. Demisting layer:

Typically, it is separated by a grid plate where the packing is positioned, with a packing layer height of up to 500mm. To enhance demisting efficiency, our company's spray tower can be equipped with a plate demister.

2. Spray layer:

This layer consists of spray pipes and nozzles, with varying densities based on the spray tower diameter. High-quality nozzles are used for uniform spraying with a high flow rate that minimizes clogging.

3. Packing layer:

Located above the demisting and spray layers, the packing layer utilizes multi-faceted hollow balls and Raschig rings as the main packings. It acts as a mass transfer device facilitating gas-liquid phase contact. A packing support plate at the bottom and a packing pressure plate on top prevent displacement of the packing material by the upward airflow. Liquid from the spray tower is distributed from the top onto the packing, flowing downward along its surface.

4. Window:

Also referred to as the detection port, the typically molded windows come in φ500mm and φ400mm sizes. The window allows for monitoring the spray tower operation, packing replacement, and nozzle inspection.

5. Loose ball valve:

Primarily used to regulate the circulation of water.

Additionally, the circulating water tank is a crucial component of the spray tower, which can be optionally connected to the tower body.

Complete Air Quality Solution Packed Tower Scrubbers Tower Scrubber

Spray towers, a prevalent technology in industrial waste gas treatment, play a vital role in mitigating the environmental impact of various industries. These towers are commonly employed in the treatment of both acidic and alkaline waste gases generated in sectors like chemical, electronic, metallurgical, electroplating, textile (chemical fiber), food, and machinery manufacturing. The diverse range of applications includes treating waste gases from processes such as food seasoning, acid production, pickling, electroplating, and electrolysis.

Furthermore, spray towers are instrumental in pollution control efforts in industries dealing with hazardous substances like lead fumes or mercury vapor. Sectors such as printing, battery manufacturing, non-ferrous metal smelting benefit from the efficiency of spray towers in purifying waste gases. These towers are also extensively used in the purification of waste gases resulting from pickling processes and other industrial activities in sectors encompassing chemical production, smelting, electroplating, kinescope manufacturing, printing and dyeing, pharmaceuticals, instrumentation, electronic components, and machinery manufacturing.

Apart from waste gas treatment, spray towers are also recognized for their effectiveness in dust removal applications. They function as wet dust collectors, particularly suitable for scenarios where the dust concentration is low but the gas contains some level of toxicity. By configuring the spray towers appropriately, the treated gas can meet stringent national emission standards, contributing significantly to environmental protection and regulatory compliance in industrial settings.
